Devotional ceremony
India is a devotional country so people have great faith on God/ Goddess such as Ganesh ji, Maa Durga,Saibaba, etc. Before starting any functions whether it is big or small, Indian people usually do some devotional function like Mata Ki Chowki or Mata Ka Jagran, Hawan, Sai sandhya to get blessing of God.
Devotional function is the part of Indian marriage that held before any marriage. It is believed that one who invokes the God/Goddess with a true faith (shradha and bhakti) and pure heart never disappointed. In Delhi people has great faith in Mata so usually they organize Mata Ka Jagran or Mata Ki Chowki at their homes to get Maa's blessings before beginning the marriage preparations.
